]]> After Namibia, we went to Botswana. We took makoros (dugout canoes) into the Okavango Delta.

Hippos are notorious for being territorial and kill more people in Africa than any other large animal. The Guardian has an interesting article on “What it is like to be swallowed by a hippo… time passes very slowly when you’re in a hippo’s mouth.”
