Yeah it was a Graeco-Roman bust. They have art from all over the world at the Hermitage.
No step cleaning tradition that I’m aware of. I think they just thought it would make a funny photo.

There were lots of Russian newlyweds taking wedding photos at scenic sites around Russia.
A bride and groom were taking photos at the Hermitage and they asked the cleaner if they could borrow his vacuum cleaner to take some photos
